The (Hidden) System Behind Every Successful AI Product Launch

Here’s the scene:
CTO/CEO: “We’ll launch it to our entire workforce, and they’ll figure it out. It’s AI after all, they don’t need an instruction manual. Either they get onboard or get left behind.”
6 months later…
CEO: "How's our new AI-powered product been performing among the teams?”
CTO: “Erh, it’s been pretty crap, I’m not gonna lie.”
CEO: “What? Why? How? - you told me this would be easy”
CTO: “Turns out we didn’t do our research. People are complaining about not understanding what it is or how to use it. Plus the back office teams weren’t aware they had to deal with routed queries and no one took ownership for nurturing all our data. Nearly 95% of teams are still just emailing HR.”
CEO: “So we spent a million dollars for people to keep using a 90s technology”
CTO: ”...”
Maybe you’ve been in rooms with conversations like this or heard the old tales around the office.
Sadly, they’re becoming commonplace with teams who launch a product but ignore the system (or what clients know I call ‘the village’) that makes it successful. I’ve sat in these rooms. The people are well-intentioned but often clueless to both the time and effort to make the launch of a new technology product successful.
That’s not just limited to AI, but since it is the current ‘in vogue’ technology, this is what I want to focus on.
