Brain science...

The big thought

Knowing how to design the best solutions for people in recognising what drives our behaviours to take action is powerful. Our brains still operate on a pretty primal level. They're still looking out for that sabre-tooth tiger to run from, but often confuse this with that email from your boss. Emotions drive our behaviours and our emotions are the data for us to learn more about ourselves and others.

We remember stuff when we feel something.

The world of neuroscience, aka brain science, has a lot to teach us about why we do the things we do. This is also super helpful to know when in a creative field.

We cannot build solutions if we don't understand what drives people to want to connect with and use them.I've written in-depth insights on what I've learnt from neuroscientists on content connection that have helped in my career in the L&D world. I still use these to this day.I also delved into this in a recent video focused on using content marketing tactics for internal comms and L&D teams. In many ways, we're all marketers of some sort. We market our work to get recognition and we need to do the same for our careers. You don't need to be a marketing genius but knowing how this works in the world will be incredibly beneficial. As a bonus, I posted a "Science of Content Engagement" mini playbook on LinkedIn that you might find of value too.Till next time, friends.
